The Northumberland hamlet of Stannersburn lies in the Kielder Forest, west of Bellingham and north west of Hexham. It held races on Tuesday 30th March 1847 when the opening one mile race was won, after 2 heats, by Blue Pill for Mr Gibson. The later Beaten Handicap, also over a mile, went to Mr Douglas’s Spare Rib. There were no further occasions when racing took place in the hamlet.
